July Trivia Contest Question: Which one of the following statements is false?

1.  The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776.

2.  Thomas Jefferson and John Adams both died on July 4, 1826.

3.  No one who signed the Declaration of Independence was born in the United States of America. 

The correct answer is #1. The Declaration was signed over a period of several weeks. Although #3 is true (the USA did not exist at the time the Declaration of Independence was signed), all but 8 of the signers were born in the colonies that later became the USA.

Question: Where is the confluence of the Boise and Snake Rivers?

Answer: The Boise River enters the Snake River at the Idaho-Oregon  border, west of Parma  and three miles (5 km) south of Nyssa, Oregon.
