Adventure! At the February MWOC program meeting you’ll hear tales of both Type 2 and Type 3 adventures! A blinding blizzard, a helicopter escape, and of scientific intrigue!

Our very own Mickey Myhre and his family spent three-weeks trekking to Everest Basecamp in Nepal early last summer. He’ll tell of his adventures following in the guiding Sherpa’s footsteps, sights he saw along the way, his collaboration with a scientific contingent looking for new mushroom species, and his take-aways from the experience. In addition, you’ll learn the difference between a yak and a nak (hint: think gender) and why their dung is important.

Mickey Myhre, MD, is the current president of the Southern Idaho Mycological Association (SIMA). He has established the only laboratory in Idaho for DNA sequencing of mushrooms. 

At 6 pm, prior to the meeting, the MWOC officers will hold their monthly business meeting. All MWOC members are welcome. The meeting will be in the Fish & Game Building, room to be determined.
