Hi Everyone,
The Crooked River Trail is one of my favorite hikes and I'm glad to get a second chance to go there again. The weather should be better next weekend (sunny and 60F), so let's try hiking on Sunday, October 14th. However, this time let's meet at the Oregon Trail Recreation Site, which is located on Highway 21 across the street from E. Lake Forrest Drive entrance. The recreation site is on the right side of the road as you head toward Idaho City and is about halfway between the Federal Way and Warm Springs intersections with Highway 21. We'll leave at 9AM and carpool to Idaho City for a restroom break and continue to the trailhead. Once on the trail, we'll split into 2 groups based on the desired rate of travel. After the hike, we'll head back to Idaho City and TRUDY's restaurant, which is a tradition with MWOC. However, some may wish to continue home and we'll try to make arrangements to accommodate that wish.
Thanks,
Rod Haars
